Insert ring for Router of BT-3100

Jan. 2/2019
The flange of the insert ring became terrible. It was made in 2010 With PP. So I made replace it with a aluminum plate.Drawing
1.The insert made of PP which the flange part became tattered using 9 years.
2.This time it is made of aluminum. Use 1.5 mm and 3 mm aluminum plate of the same depth as the table groove dimension of the fret saw. Cut out with a thread saw in a disc shape larger than the original size by about 1 mm.
3.Drilling 10 mm in the center of the disk.
4.First, Grasp the 10 mm drill to the three nail chuck. Then insert 4 disks into it and turning around the outer edge while pushing with tailstock. 1.5mm thick is 65 mm O.D and 3mm thick is 62 mm O.D.
5.Drill a hole 3mm to aluminum plate for neodymium magnet, paste to 1.5mm aluminum. Then adhere neodymium magnets as well. If you put each aluminum plate in the hole of the table visible on the upper left and bond it, you can bond with concentric circle without being displaced.
6.Grasp with four claw bantam chucks and turn the inner diameter to a predetermined size. At this time, machining the PVC or wood throwing board at the back side of the workpiece allows inner diameter machining without damaging the chuck.
7.Four kinds of inserts with different inner diameters were completed.
8.Fix with M3 dish screw to increase strength. First, after Drilling 2.5mm hole, M3 tap.
9.Spot facing.
10.The countersunk screw of M3 is 4.5 mm in length, but there is no standard item. Therefore, make M3 tap on 3 mm thick FB and make a jig adjusted so that the threaded screw total length is 4.5 mm. This is a state with a screw with a total length of 10 mm screwed.
11.Cut the protruding thread part with a gold saw. The length of the screw remaining in the jig is 4.5 mm.
12.M3 countersunk screw with length 4.5 mm.
It completes the aluminum insert.
There is no step with the table, it seems to be comfortable to use.
