Razor strop

Sep. 16/2019
This is the leather strop used for the final abrasive finish of the knife. When I was making this, I came up with a nostalgic scene. It's about 50 years ago since in I was elementary school. At that time in the barber there was a leather belt hanging next to the haircut, and sometimes the owner was sharpening the razor. It is a memory of 50 yerrs ago I can not see now.
1.The material is japanese ash with a thickness of 15 mm. Mark the part of the handle with a cloud ruler.
2.Drilling 10mm.
3.Cut the handle part with a fret saw.
4.Shaping the R section with a disk sander.
5.Mark the handle with the FABOOL laser machine.
6.The speed is 3000mm / min and the output is 100% (3.5W).
7.Cut a 2.5 mm thick leather to the width of the board. I don't know what kind of leather this is, but I found it in a large amount in the warehouse of my home, I think it's probably the material of shoes.
8.In consideration of changing the leather, It stuck using double-sided tape.
Length 400mm, width 58mm, leather length 285mm.
I smeared the picanol and sharpened the knife.I think the sharpness of the knife has improved very much.
