Cafe tray & Cutlery rest

My wife asked me to make a cafe tray for my friends, and I made a tray with a portrait of my wife's friend.Drawing
1.Use two types of Japanese ash with different grain. First, make a flat surface with a hand feed planer.
2.This is another japanese ash. Cut to 41mm width.
3.Cut the # 10 biscuit groove with a joiner.
4.Groove completion.
5.Gluing workpieces with homemade vise. It is the size of two trays.
6.Cut a 5mm wide groove to put the rosewood bar.
7.Cut 5mm thick rosewood to 4mm width.
8.Bonded with yellow glue. In the upper right of the photo, you can see a cutlery rest parts made of scrap material from the tray.
9.Surface polishing with a drum sander.
10.Chamfer around the tray at 60 degree bit.
11.Cutlery rest. Make the groove in two places so that It can put a spoon and a fork. Use a 3/8 inch spherical bit.

13.Cut to 16mm width.
14.I made four trays. And carved a caricature with a laser machine. This is my wife.

18.Finishing gkigatame aceh was used. It is highly water-resistant and is used to restore Japanese cultural heritage.
