Pipe for liquid impregnation

I used a urethane curing agent to paint the pentagonal chopstick. It takes too much time for the urethane to penetrate to the inside. So I made a vacuum pipe to impregnate the chopstick with the liquid.Drawing of pipe,Drawing of stand
1.Use a stainless steel pipe with an outer diameter of 12 mm and an inner diameter of 11 mm for the impregnation part. The size is exactly one chopstick.
2.Make a stopper for the SUS pipe. Turning to 11 mm outer diameter. Material is Japanese ash.
3.Turning to 12 mm outer diameter.
4.Glue the stopper to the pipe with instant glue. Next, seal with urethane liquid so as not to inhale air.
5.Use a modified 8mm tube elbow for the fitting that connects the container and the vacuum pump.
6.Cut off the male screw part.
7.Turning the face of the elbow joint. Also, extend the hole to 7 mm. An aluminum pipe with an outer diameter of 7 mm is inserted into this hole.
8.Cut an aluminum pipe with an outer diameter of 7 mm to a specified length.
9.Insert and bond a 7mm aluminum pipe to soft urethane rubber. And Turning to the specified dimensions. Use a soft push on the tailstock.
10.Bond urethane rubber with aluminum pipe to elbow.
11.Next, make fitting parts. First, Make SUS short tube with outer diameter of 12 mm.
12.Make aluminum short tube with outer diameter 7mm.
13.This is the part used to connect the SUS impregnated pipe and the acrylic pike.
14.Finished parts. The allyl pipe is used to check whether the liquid is leaking to the vacuum pump.
15.Glue the aluminum pipe to the wooden holder.
16.Glue the upper fitting to the pipe.
17.Joint of SUS pipe and acrylic pipe. The SUS pipe is just plugged in.

19.Acrylic pipe upper part and elbow part.
20.An elbow is inserted. The nylon tube is connected to the vacuum pump.
21.The SUS pipe and acrylic pipe are connected.
22.Make a pipe stand. First, make a long hole for elbow type tube joint with a straight bit of 14mm.

25.Set up the impregnation pipe unit. The stand is finished with perilla oil.
26.The top where the elbow is inserted into the slot of the stand.
27.Lower part with 12mm SUS pipe inserted into stand.
28.Run a vacuum pump as a test. The vacuum increased to the limit of the dry pump. There will be no air leaks.

I tried impregnating the rose wood chopsticks. It's a nice finish.


31.I decided to make an impregnation pot with a slightly larger glass bottle. M8 Die to nylon hose nipple.
32.Although the original PT1 / 4 screw trace remained, it became an M10 male screw.
33.This glass bottle was filled with plums. Make a 10mm hole in the lid and attach the nipple. Put a washer under the hose nipple and put a 0.5mm thick neoprene packing under the washer.
34.The back side of the lid. It is tightened with an M10 nut.
Since the size of the bottle is 75mm diameter 130mm height, I think that it can put small items such as pendants.
