Rear bench expansion board for the "forester"

Jul. 24/2024
I've always been interested in overnight in the car, but I thought it would be difficult for an SUV to have a step in the back seat. The Forester Advance, which I changed last year, is almost flat when the back seat is tilted down, and if I can easily fill the gap with the front seat, I thought that it would be possible to stay in the car, so I made an expansion board.Drawing
1.The material is paulownia laminated wood, 350 * 910 * 13t. I had a stock of plywoods, but I chose this because I thought it would be better if it was lighter.
2.Cut a 453 x 350 board cut in half, cut a groove for the belt, and cut the four sides round with a plane.
3.Groove part where the belt enters. 25mm wide and 2mm deep.
4.For the belt, I used a binding belt that was sold at a bargain price.
5.Paulownia is easily scratched, so I applied Watco color to improve the surface hardness as much as possible. Fix the belt with 3.5 x 10L wood screws to complete the expansion board.
6.The part where the belt is fixed with wood screws.
7.The rear of the driver's seat of the "Forester". The procedure is 1) Tilt the back seat. 2) Place the expansion board on the headrest of the rear seat and hook the belt on the headrest of the front seat. 3) Slide the front seat forward to adjust the height. This completes the set.
8.The driver's seat has a memory function, so if you register this position in the memory, you can set it automatically from the next time. By the way, when you sit in the driver's seat, the driver monitoring system operates and the seat automatically moves to the driving position, so be careful.
9.Seen from the hatchback side, it looks like this.
10.Since the overall length is 190cm, it is unlikely inconvenience is to go to bed the height 173cm.
There is no step, but there is a slight upward slope toward the head.
When I lay the leisure mat of "LICLI", it looks like this.
