The foreword
As for the windmill system, the one of a lot of kinds is used from the old days.
Roughly dividing, it is divided into three of the horizontal axis windmills, the perpendicular axis windmills, the special windmills.
I decided to adopt the horizontal axis blade -type windmill which is most often used as the business of the wind velocity generation of electricity.
As the reason, the efficiency be high with the primacy.
In other words, it is possible to dwarf.
It be possible for the blade of the marketing article to get about the 2nd.
Originally, it should write a blade, too, but it is an experiment for the first time and it is because the confidence didn't lie in beginning to reduce from the timber.
Therefore, it bought the 1.8 m type blade of "Fan Bird" company.
It decided that it made the other part by it.
Detailed design of the part
It gathered a data last year from November of (1979), it began a design and it is in February of (1980) that the drawing was complete this year.
Because I was doing the work of the machine design, the design, the drafting didn't become a pain but it attended to the following point especially.
1)It makes the structure which can do a number of rotations control by the windmill.
2)It makes safety high.
3)It makes a cost low to the utmost.
Also, it consulted the photographs 1, 2 of the system of the wind velocity generation of electricity of the "Mr.Nagura" manufacturing.
Next, it is an outline at this windmill.
The flow with energy is a wind, a blade, a rotor shaft, a big pulley, a belt, a small pulley, a generator, a battery.
As the attachment part, it separates into the swing mechanism above, the damper for the shock absorption, the done bar for the gyro moment absorption, the disk brake, support base, the wind pressure switch.
1.Rotor Shaft
The rotor shaft is the one which supports a blade, communicating the turn of the blade to the pulley smoothly.
The diameter of the axis used 25 mm and the material used SUS304.
It used two bearings of bearing unit UCP-205.
Especially, it didn't use a thrust bearing because the thrust of the windmill was gained by the axis but was thrust with the degree which can be absorbed by the radial axis receiving.
However, it forgets here and it is to put a paragraph to the shaft and that the intrados of the shaft and the bearing makes not slip by the thrust that don't become.
The combination of the blade and the shaft used four holes at the center of the blade and already, with one sheet of free flanges, it installed a blade with the putting-in screw with the flange to have installed in the pulley.
Also, the combination of the pulley and the shaft used a keyway and it decided to fix it with the hex of M8*10L.
2.The revolution up
It is one of the most important ones of the component of the wind velocity generation of electricity.
It used a thing for the car for the generator.
It acquired a generator in the secondhand person in the neighborhood.
This generator is 14 V of output, 45 A and reaches maximum output at 3500 rpm.
900 rpm of blade number of rotations's having 10 m/s wind velocity.
Therefore, it did a revolution ratio by about 4 times.
I used soft urethane for the belt.
3.The frame
The frame at the windmill was thinking of the SUS304 corner pipe of 2 t of 150*75* at first but this was expensive.
I chose a Japanese cypress.
Because, it is because it wears.
4.The support unit
Support used 2inch SUS304TP.
To improve the follow-ability of the direction of the wind change, it incorporated a thrust bearing.
In case of the small windmill, it used to seem to be unnecessary but to improve reliability.
As for Tower, it used a secondhand electric light pole.
It received it in the conceding from the electricity construction company of the acquaintance.
It fixed a bearing box on the finial of this with two fancy U bolts.
It is important for the installation to make the perpendicular degree of the unit correct.
The follow-ability becomes bad when this isn't correct.
5.The safety device
For the we amateur to install a windmill near the habitation, the utter safe measure is necessary.
General but the following safe measure has lectured to this system, too.
(1)The rotations control
It doesn't endure and the wind velocity of the natural wind is changing.
When the wind velocity exceeds a fixed case, the blade becomes turn exceeding.
It connects with the destruction of the system when the worst.
The number of rotations control becomes necessary to prevent from this.
In this system, it adopted a swing method above.
It installed an oil damper to absorb vibration at the time of the swing.
This remodeled the shock absorber of the car.
Also, to make a windmill stop totally in case of the typhoon, and so on, it installed an aluminum disk in the back of the big pulley and it put the manual disk brake which presses rubber on this.
(2)The done bar for the gyro moment absorption
It was the equipment which the horizontal axis -type windmill always needs and in this system, it used the done bar of the tail assembly bend method with very simple structure.
The method of the installation of the spring is stylish and becomes the style which can adjust strength, too.
6.The electric wiring
(1)The wind pressure switch
The generator needs an excitation electric current to generate electricity.
It is necessary to make OFF when this becomes ON if the wind spouts in the windmill system and becomes a weak wind.
This equipment operates a microswitch in the wind pressure.
As for the microswitch, the magnetic type for the direct current is effective and also as for this type, the price, too, is a one with being cheap ( about 1000 yen ) and in the equipment of the haft where the others go, it is the most practical.
(2)The control of the excitation electric current
The maker specification in the regulator, the about 2.5 A electric current flows through the field coil and turn torque's becoming big when wiring.
The turn rise of the wind velocity becomes difficult for this purpose.
The excitation electric current must be changed by the strength of the wind.
However, to change continuously isn't necessary and it is enough in 2 step switching by the strong wind and the weak wind.
In this system, it connected 10 ohms of volume linear resistance and 5 ohms with the field coil and it made change them manually.
7.The other cover
As for most of the bodies, it is made of SUS304.
Therefore, there is not necessity of the coat.
However, it painted paint timber in the 2 degree repeating.
The rotor shaft and the generator needs an installation.venthole in the rain avoidance cover which is made from aluminum.
The operation situation
It was complete in March(1980).
It leveled a generator only with the blade without connecting it for about 2 weeks, it operated and it did a sinker adjustment by the swing above, the adjustment of the shock absorber.
It is operating favorably for about 6 months in beginning of the generation of electricity of the looking-forward on March 15th and becoming after that.
By the way, it is the efficiency of this windmill but at about 8.5 m/s, it becomes a 200 W design.
However, not being actually the 8 - 9 m/s blowy day at the wind velocity, it isn't recording 200 W output.
Actually, as for the output to have generated electricity, the about 160 W output is the best at 7 m/s.
Also, the cut in wind velocity is about 5 m/s and it sets cutout wind velocity to 10 - 12 m/s.
If equal to or more than about 5 m/s it blows, the generation of electricity is possible.
It manufactures a windmill and the important thing is an use with charged energy. ......

After that, saying the reorganization to detect the number of rotations of the blade and to control an excitation electric current, I memorize.
I was moved 2 years later after I manufactured this.
Then, it is as it stored a generator in the removal warehouse.
It thinks that it works if assembling still, too.
It thinks that I want to challenge once again.
