Inverter for WT-300

May 3/2006
I remodeled woodcraft lathe (WT-300) into inverter from V belt. It comes to be able to set an appropriate rotational speed by the material and the processing method, etc. by this easily.
1.Inverter is FR-E510W-0.75K by MITSUBISHI. 100V in,200V out,3ø,0.75KW. Motor is SB-JR by MITSUBISHI. 200V,0.75KW,4P,Case 80M.
2.Pulley is 3.5 inches of M type (O.D 88.9mm). V belt selected M31. When it is this belt, the tension is also fit in the position of former motor.
3.The bracket is put on former base as it is in case of 80M motor. Because the terminal box is the outside, the movement of the tool is not obstructed.
4.Last year, I picked up fin for Inverter with big size. I use this and set it up in the wooden rack.
5.I worried where to put the inverter. And, I set it up under the shelf in a left interior of the lathe. There are neither a vibration nor dust though operativeness is only a little bad. The start and the stop were turned on remotely with a hand switch of the lathe attachment, and changed to the setting that was able to be turned off.
6.I measured the rotational speed with a digital tachometer of the reflection type. And, the display of the inverter is changed from HZ to rpm. It agreed with by 32.5 times the frequency to the measurement rotational speed.
7.I put NFB for the first safety. It is 30A.
8.Dust collector was started with the lathe hand switch. It starts from the lathe after a delay of two seconds because there is a timer. The timer is put because there is no room in the power supply of work shop.
9.Dust collector is used also for band saw.It is possible to start even with a single switch.
10.I worried about a peculiar noise of the inverter. However, the noise was able to be decreased considerably by changing the PWM career frequency. Moreover, it stops immediately if the button is pushed because the stop time was set at two seconds. Irritation was lost. Hereafter, my wood turning life will become happier.
