Tenkara is the way of fishing which used the fly which is in Japan from the old days.

I would like to tell you about "tomoturi". Tomoturi is one method on AYU fishing.
If you translate "tomoturi" literally into English, it becomes tomo - friend and tuyi - fishing. Thus Tomoturi means "friend fishing"in English.
When another AYU comes into a male's territory, he drives the newcomwer away by attacking his belly.
With a hook rigged to your bait's belly you can catch the AYU when he attacks.
