Ayu and `Tomo-zuri` are very unique to Japan, and to the Japanese they are a symbol of the countryside giving them a feeling of being with nature.

Lure Ship is used for keeping caught fishes temporarily during fishing in running water.

Tackle
--Rod--
It uses the long rod of 30 feet. Because, it is to lead a lure to the distance.
All fishing rods are made from carbon. The weight is about 250 grams.
To use a long fishing rod in the daytime in 1, it is necessary to be light.
The general price is US$2000 about! Classy rod is equal to or more than 4000 US$!!
I am using 250 gram weight at 31 feet.

--Line--
It separates into four parts. It is called "top rod line","aerial line","underwater line","landing line" from the top of rod.

--top rod line--
It uses nylon except for the part.
It prevents from twining around rod. I am using 2pond test by 17feet.

--aerial line--
It saves expensive "underwater line". I am using 0.6pond test by 5feet.
The thickness is 83 micrometers(Line No0.25).

--underwater line--
It is the most important line. It makes attenuate boundlessly to make the resistance of water little.
The thickness is 37 micrometers(Line No0.05). This line is expensive and does 1 m US$3.5, too.
Also, it installs four markers to know the position of "AYU".
The marker uses pink poly yarn.
It adjusts a marker most below to 1.5 times the water depth.

--landing line--
It has the duty of the impact absorption in attack of "AYU" and the breaking prevention of the metallic thread.
I am using 0.6pond test by 6inch.

--Crossing Line--
It uses to connect a nose ring and Reverse hook.
I am using 2.5pond test. The length is as the full length of "AYU".

--Hooking liader--
Connecting thread for the fishhook. It adjusts length for the hook to go out of the tail fin of "AYU" by about 2 cm.

Way of fishing
"AYU" eats the lichen which grew at stone in water.
Each "AYU" has a territory with the about diameter of 5 feet around the stone.
When another "AYU" invades his territory, he fights against the newcomer.
When the newcomer doesn't run away even if he chases, it attacks the abdomen of the newcomer.
If the hook hangs on the abdomen of the newcomer, attacked "AYU" catches on the hook.
It is the principle of "tomo-zuriI".

Let's introduce the way of fishing which is concrete.

You buys a lure.It is selling it near the river.

You sets a lure in the fishing rod.

You lead a lure to the territory of "AYU" using the long fishing rod and the line.
