HDMI-USB conversion adapter

Jan.20/2026
My Forester Advance is equipped with a Mitsubishi Diatone navigation system, but unfortunately it doesn't have an HDMI port. My grandson had been wanting to watch YouTube videos in the car, so I purchased a USB-to-HDMI adapter and an iPhone Lightning to HDMI conversion cable from Amazon. The adapter is the KEIYO AN-S134, and the cable is an MFi-certified 1.5m iPhone to HDMI conversion cable.
When I opened the box, the adapter was small and light, but the cable was larger than I expected.
When connected to the communication USB cable in the Forester's glove box, the power light will come on.
To access the cable, I removed the tray that holds the console's USB power supply and drilled a hole in the center of the back.
When I connected it to my iPhone and displayed the screen, it automatically entered mirroring mode. I was surprised at how easy it was to connect!
When I launched YouTube, it was mirrored on the navigation screen like this. The video was displayed beautifully with no audio delay.
I was able to confirm that I could watch TV from the menu even while connected.
