Nobbyhorse
Oct. 10/2004
I enjoyed woodworking after a long time.
The material is 2*4, 10ft length.
I drawing by the CAD.
Drawing

Next, cutting plan.
This time, My theme is cutting a large curve with a powered tool.
Leg of the nobbyhorse is about 1500 mm of radiuses.
This case, I was using jigsaw when cutting a big curve.
I copied the pattern into material and was clipping it.
However, I decided to make the jig which can cut a big radius by band saw.

I assemble 2*2 to the L letterform and adjusts the height of the leg to the table.
The tip of the leg makes T to be stable.
I mounted the plate to fix on the table of band saw in the tip of the one.
The plate is an aluminum material with 5 mm thickness.

I think that it is very easy to use this jig.
There is no level difference in a cutting. and It's smooth curve.

The last process is a assembly.
Each part is connected by the screw.
and closes a hole by the dowel-pin.
I was select natural finish. (It isn't painted)

Baby "Shuto" is being satisfied with the nobbyhorse which the grandfather made.
He became 1 year old on September.

The Jig of circle-cut 2.
