June 19/2005 The plump bowl of the horse chestnut. I was making bowl thin so far. However, I reconsidered when the thicker one seemed to be a wooden receptacle more. The material used the horse chestnut of doing my favorite. This bowl has a characteristic to the edge. | ||

| 1.The material is a horse chestnut with 75 mm thickness. I sets a work in the face plate. | 2.I cut outer with roughing gouge and bowl gouge. To grip it with Bantam chuck, the part in the bottom is cut down with 19mm square scraper. | |

| 3.The pilot hall is processed with fosnar bit before the inside is cutting with gauge. | 4.I cut the inside by using bowl gouge of 12mm. Next, I make the use inside smooth in the 19mmround scraper. Round scraper is easy to handle.I thinks that it is an indispensable tool to the beginner. | |

| 5.I put a small ditch to the accent by the skew to the frame which was left in the circular figure of ring. I wanted to make truth rougher. However, I could not find the way. | 6.I used tung oil in the finish. I likes, that the smell which is peculiar to this oil is intolerable. | |

| Figure of the horse chestnut is very beautiful. I think that it finished softly by a color combination settled compared with the urethane of the former work. 150mm Dia * 70mm Tall. | ||
