Natural edge bowl of the persimmon.

I made bowl of a natural edge by using the unseasoned wood of the persimmon, that had been gotten from friend's Mr.Yano on the end of last year.
.I cut the log with an electric Chen saw.
.I cut it with band saw like the disk. However, the disk that becomes jig ahead of that is made from plywood.
.Disks are ø190 m/m. I mount the disk on work by the screw.
.I cut the circle with band saw along this disk.
.I mount the face plate, and set the other side pushing at the tail center. Because it is unseasoned wood, it is heavy. It is about 5kg. This level is a limit in my lathe WT-300.
.I lower the rotational speed to 575 rpm, and cut down outer with roughing gouge. Unseasoned wood cuts like peeling off the skin of the apple.
.The rotation is 980rpm. I average the surface with spindle gouge, remove the tail center next, and cut down the bottom.
.I tried to change chuck and to set work. And, I open the pilot hall by using fosnar bit of 25mm.
.I cut down first with bowl gouge of 13mm, and the end used spindle gouge of 10mm. It cuts down until about the part where the edge is thin becomes about 3mm from 2mm. The rotational speed is 1560 rpm.
.This ended sandhing. I think that I make bowl dry up for a while and that I will do it in the oil finish.
.Watoco oil finish.165mm Dia * 130mm Tall.
.Urethane finish. 175mm Dia * 90mm Tall.
.Korean Perilla finish. I like this oil.
mm Dia * 100mm Tall.
