Oct. 16/2010 The small basin I bought the hollow master of the Robert sorby co,ltd. I tried to make a small vase. |
1.The material is the circular cylinder to glue with the cherry tree and the Japanese oak each other.This hollow master is easy to use because the shank is a semicircle. |
2.I made the jig to finish up the bottom of the vase flatly. |

3.Insert the mouth of the vase in the jig. Then,push@the bottom of the vase with the soft tail stock and turning it. |
4.The vase entrance is made the zigzag by the bit by 60 degrees. |

5.I retook it later because I had forgotten the photograph of centering. When vacuum chuck is used, works is adjusted with the dial gauge. |
6.The lid is made from the Bombay black wood. |

7.Paper that marks the tear off along dotted line is put on the lid with the spray glue. |
8.Cutting it with the jigsaw. |
