Jan. 30/2005 Natural Edge 2 I made a bowl with the natural edge following the last time. However, the result condition wasn't good. I thought that it was important to choose good material. |
| | | |
| 1.The material is camphor tree. It got it from my friend about 2 years before. | 2.I cuts material in Band saw. and, I makes a one side flat. | |
| | | |
| 3.It uses the circle cut jig of band Thor and it makes circular. | 4.I sets a face plate in the part which made a one flat and it drilling for the collet chuck opposite with fastener bit. | |
| | | |
| 5.I turns the part which becomes a bottom. | 6.This time, it used teak oil. I noticed black bristletail's on the surface of the material. | |
| | | |
| 7.I turns the inside at with bowl gouge. There is a black bristletail inside, too. | 8.It thinks that an edge was stay and that it was beautifully completed. However, it is still blackish like the bristletail. | |
| | | |
| 9.I seems that there still was a problem in the material and it is regrettable. I really feeled when to choose good material at the natural edge was valuable. | 10.It painted a coloring stain to hide a bristletail. This bowl will use a plant pot. | |
| | | |
| 11.I cheered up again and I attempted to make some sake cups. | 12.I made it when using the part where there is not a bristletail of the same camphor tree, it is fairly good. | |
