ENKARA rig spool

TENKARA is an ancient Japanese fly fishing style. I've been fishing this way for about 40 years. Lately I've mainly been fly fishing, but this year I wanted to try my hand at TENKARA fishing, so I made a rig spool to motivate myself.Drawing
.The material is 100mm square beech wood.
.A 7mm hole is drilled to allow for gripping with a screw chuck.
.Set the screw chuck on the woodworking lathe.
.The workpiece is turned into a cylinder with a roughing gouge while being pushed with a threaded tailstock.
.The end is turned to a diameter of 60 mm.
.The chuck was replaced with a Bantam chuck, the workpiece was turned over and gripped, and a 5mm groove was machined and a 19mm hole was drilled in the center.
.Step processing with a depth of 5.5 mm.
.Cut off with a parting tool.
.Flip it over and create a 1.5mm step.
.Drill a 5mm hole for hooking.
.A 19mm hole is drilled to fit the hackle part of the fly.
.A groove is carved using a carving knife to guide the tippet through the winding groove.
.Painted three times with water-based urethane paint.
.Name engraved with a laser machine.
.Buff with carnauba wax.
.The spool is now complete.
.Next, we will make a stopper rubber band to prevent the wrapped rig from coming undone. We will use a thick hair tie.
.Wind it onto the spool, measure the length and cut it.
.Tie the ends with string and cut off any excess.
.The completed stopper rubber and spool.
I immediately tried reeling in the TENKARA rig.
It's not bad.
